Chef Granata has clearly
established himself as one of Rhode Island's premier culinary talents!
From the kitchen of this elegant Federal Hill restaurant he is known for
his masterful versions of classical Italian dishes, melded with
eye-popping creative fare that amazes restaurant guests on a nightly
basis. His culinary career ironically began more than fifteen years ago
in the very kitchen he occupies today. From the late eighties through the
mid-nineties, Chef Granata served as an Able Apprentice / Sous Chef to
noted Camille's Chef Joseph Lovely. It was during this time that he
developed a true passion for classical Italian cooking.
From 1996 until 2002, when he returned to Camille's, Granata was
Executive Chef at two very popular Rhode Island restaurants; The Post
Office Cafe in East Greenwich and The North End Cafe in North Providence.
These two restaurants are part of the seven member Pinelli-Marra Group
where Chef Granata held the title of Corporate Executive Chef from 1997
until 2002.
In 2002, Chef Granata returned to Camille's and immediately began to
restore this renowned restaurant to its place as one of Rhode Island's
elite dining spots. Chef Granata's forte is his proven ability to meld
flavor combinations without masking a dish's ingredients. He works
closely with his Chef de Cuisine and Manager/Sommelier to create and
maintain the restaurant's exceptional luncheon, dinner and customized
function menus.
Chef Granata has also been featured on his own popular Rhode Island
television show "Top of the Hill at Camille's," as well as on the pages
of The Providence Journal and numerous local television programs. He is a
member of the Chef's Association of Rhode Island.
